Approving Proposals-Workflow

There are two ways for individuals responsible for steps in workflow to respond in CIM.

Method 1: Email

When a proposal has reached the step of workflow for which you are responsible, you will receive an email. That email will contain a direct link into CIM to the proposal it references. Since a user may be in multiple CIM workflow steps, you will need to change the "Your Role" dropdown menu to the correct role for your step in the workflow to see all of the proposals.

Method 2: Direct CIM Access

If you misplace the email or prefer to view all of the proposals at your step of the workflow at once, you may login to CIM workflow directly using the "Workflow Approval" link on the CIM homepage. You will need to change the "Your Role" dropdown menu to the correct role for your step in the workflow to see all of the proposals.

Once you access the proposal, there are three options available:

  • Approve (green button)-this approves the proposal and sends it to the next step in the workflow (if applicable).
  • Rollback (red button)-this button will allow you to send the proposal back to any previous step in the workflow. You will need to provide comments regarding the reason for sending the proposal back.
  • Edit (blue button)-this button will allow you to edit the existing proposal. Saving these edits does not automatically approve the proposal.
